Chief's Message

2022 was an action packed year for the DFPD.  We had an election in May that resulted in board members continuing their positions on the Board of Directors and a mill levy increase was passed for the district that is greatly appreciated by our team.  We are proud to serve the DFPD and strive to give our best to the community we serve, both in fire and ambulance service calls.  The increase in mill levy will help our district continue to provide quality support to the community.

We were able to serve our country and gain some very valuable training during the summer months as some team members were able to serve other fire stricken areas throughout the western states, while leaving our station in the capable hands of members who remained in the District.   We received fantastic feedback from the fire sites our team served and have been requested to serve this upcoming fire season as well.

We are working on a rotating schedule to begin replacing fire apparatus and equipment that are nearing the end of their serviceablility.  Our first replacement project is an ambulance that we anticipate will be delivered in the spring of 2024.

We look forward to continuing our service to the De Beque community, the surrounding district area, and the other nearby communities that we may be called to assist.  Thank you for your support!
